Company Tour at SAP Canada
SAP, a global technology giant, welcomed members of YEP for an exclusive tour of their impressive Vancouver SAP Labs branch on Oct 24th, 2023. As YEP Society aimed to ignite the spark of curiosity among high school students, the SAP tour became a pivotal experience that exceeded all expectations.
The tour commenced with a firsthand perspective of Christine Vukusic, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of SAP Canada, who shared her personal insight into SAP and her leadership within the company. As the students embarked on the tour, they gained a deeper understanding of SAP's commitment to technological excellence and innovation.
Following the tour, YEP members got an opportunity to gain hands-on experience coding the popular Arduino microcontroller using cutting-edge programming language. Guided by SAP employees, each individual programmed the Arduino to control Neopixel light strips and to interact with digital switches (buttons) and potentiometers (knobs).
The workshop was designed to be accessible yet challenging, allowing students to program Arduino to control Neopixel light strips while interacting with digital switches and potentiometers. This hands-on activity not only explained coding in a simple way but also showcased the practical applications of technology, fostering a sense of empowerment among our participants.
YEP Society's event at SAP Vancouver was more than just a tour; it was an engaging journey into the tech world. SAP's commitment to fostering innovation and its dedication to community engagement were on full display. As SAP continues to lead the way in the tech industry, the memories created during this tour will undoubtedly serve as a source of inspiration for the students who were fortunate enough to be a part of this unforgettable experience.
